Faculty members and registered student organizations are invited to submit a proposal to host a fellow during the academic year. Once approved, the Poynter Fellowship program will notify the sponsor so they may begin planning and coordinating the visit. Please note the sponsor host is responsible for all aspects of the fellow’s event, travel, and visit to Yale.

Typically, the Poynter Fellowship offers a funding allocation of $1,500 to cover various expenses, including honoraria, promotional materials, travel and accommodations, and audio/visual support for a singular speaking engagement. The Yale Office of Public Affairs and Communications also assists with publicity efforts through digital advertising. Additional funding requests are considered depending on the scope and complexity of the proposed visit. Large-scale or multi-session events may be eligible for more support than listed above.

Opinions and statements expressed by event moderators and participants are their personal views and do not represent the views of the university.
